Employed Worker Training - Designed to meet the special requirements of an employer, the Employed Worker Program can help a current employee obtain the skills necessary to become more productive; improving their opportunity for advancement within a company. This customized training may be provided to a single employee or group of employees. Click here to request more information. Incumbent Worker Training - The Incumbent Worker Training Program provides grant funding for customized training for existing for-profit businesses. Through this customer-driven program, we are able to effectively retain and keep businesses competitive through upgrade skills training for existing full-time employees. On-The-Job-Training (OJT) - OJT is provided for eligible candidates who have been hired by the employer following an agreement with Heartland Workforce that the employer will provide the occupational training. In exchange, the employer can recoup up to 50 percent of the wages paid to the OJT participant during the training period. Click here for more information. Quick Response Training - The Quick Response Training Program provides grant funding for customized training for new or expanding businesses that produce an exportable product or service. Companies must be creating full-time, high-quality jobs requiring specialized training that is not available in the local community. Click here for more information The Returning Heroes Tax Credit - A new hiring tax credit that will provide an incentive for businesses to hire unemployed veterans.
The Wounded Warrior Tax Credit - will double the existing tax credit for long-term unemployed veterans with service-connected disabilities.
